Deschutes Gold | Original Oregon Landscape Oil Painting

Painted from the Lower Deschutes Wildlife Area in late fall, this scene was shaped by the warm November light. The drying grasses and flowers caught the sun in golds and ochres, while the distant hills shifted into cool blues through the atmosphere. The river reflected the light almost like a mirror as it wound through the landscape.
